A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Vancouver Vipers and Crescent City Krewe.

The Vancouver Vipers beat the Crescent City Krewe, 10-2, at Field of the Krewe. The Vipers got a fine performance from first baseman Jorge Hernández, who hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Miguel González, who is tied for 3rd in the PAA with a 8.8 K/9 rate, was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.

With Vancouver leading 3-2 in the top of the fifth, Hernández batted against Crescent City pitcher Brandon Whitney. Hernández hit a cutter to left for a solo home run. His 7th home run of the season put the Vipers on top, 4-2.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Vancouver manager Rafael Longoria.

With the win, Vancouver has a record of 17-10. Crescent City falls to 13-14.
