Howell Rips 2 Home Runs in 7-3 Miners Triumph
Behind the hitting of Rusty Howell, the Marquette Miners stopped the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 7-3. Howell went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Miners. Marquette is now 17-12, while Nuevo Mexico is 18-11.

Howell had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-2 sinker from Burt Dickerson, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Miners a 6-3 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Howell.

"I think it just wasn't our night," said Nuevo Mexico skipper Allen Carlson.
