Ogres Earn Late 5-4 Win
|
Due in large part to left fielder Joe Oliver, the Olympia Ogres sunk the Bethesda Atoms, 5-4. Oliver belted 2 home runs. Guillermo Torres earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 3 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Olympia's record now stands at 12-17, placing them 9th in the Premier AA.
Had Yuan Chou not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Chou hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Ogres.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Chou said after the game.
