Javelina Get One-Run Win at Mercer Island
|
Arizona Javelina starter Don Wichman pitched a strong game against the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles at Mercer Island Grounds, leading the Javelina to victory, 4-3. Marko Tapaninen earned the save for Arizona, his 7th. The setback makes Mercer Island 16-14.
Arizona used a well-timed hit by Michael Moss to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Javelina ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We were the better team," crowed Moss.
