Fans watched the Marquette Miners and the Crescent City Krewe fight to the finish.

The Marquette Miners picked up a win at Field of the Krewe, knocking off the Crescent City Krewe, 6-5. Starting pitcher Donald Huffman played a key role in the triumph. The winner was Huffman. He threw 6.2 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was José Heredia. Getting the save was Cam Stone, his 3rd.

Marquette used a clutch at-bat from Brad Waddingham to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Miners ahead, 6-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Donald was dictating to their hitters," said Marquette manager José Luna.

After today's action, Marquette sits at 17-14, while Crescent City falls to 16-15.
