White Walkers Earn 5-2 Home Win
|
Buffalo and Ft. Worth duked it out and the White Walkers came out victorious.
Despite a fine performance by left fielder Guillermo Dettori, the Ft. Worth Cattlemen lost to the Buffalo White Walkers, 5-2. Dettori went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Zebulon Pike, the winner, improved to 7-5. He held Ft. Worth to 2 runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Picking up the save was 28-year old right-handed pitcher Johnny Flannery.
The White Walkers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Octávio Cruz. For the game, Cruz was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave Buffalo a 2-1 lead.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Cruz.
Buffalo, now 40-54, holds down 8th place in the Premier League.
