St. Petersburg Picks Up Another L
|
Minnesota got a strong outing from Don Collins as the Loons defeated the St. Petersburg Thunder, 3-2, at Baby Thunder Dome. Collins yielded 2 runs over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-3. Picking up the save was 22-year old left-handed pitcher Eddy Poole.
Juan Orozco, who leads the PAA in runs scored with 20, had a direct impact on the outcome. Orozco contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Minnesota up, 3-0.
"Don made some big pitches when he needed to," said Loons manager Eddie O'Bryan.
St. Petersburg has now lost 6 in a row.
