Jorge García, who is tied for 2nd in the PAA in complete games with 1, never let the Loons get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Thunder to a win, 6-0. García picked up the win for St. Petersburg, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-4. St. Petersburg is now 12-20, while Minnesota is 18-14.

Todd Daniel had a big 2-run double for the Thunder in the bottom of the second inning. With St. Petersburg leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Wan-hua Ping, who is tied for 3rd in the PAA in wins with 4, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Thunder ahead, 3-0.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Daniel.
