Weber Slugs Highlanders to 5-1 Win
John Weber impressed in the 5-1 Asheville win over St. Petersburg. Weber, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2047 draft, hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The winning pitcher was Andy Johnson. He's now 5-2. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits for the Highlanders. St. Petersburg is in the throes of a 13-game skid.

With Asheville leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Weber hit a fastball from Randy Crane for a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Highlanders ahead, 3-0.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Asheville manager Robby Long.
