Torch Need Extra Frames to Get Past Expos
Behind a solid performance from shortstop Frank Douglas, the Mancelona Torch defeated the Niagara Falls Expos, 6-2. Douglas hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Torch. Mancelona reliever Javier Martínez was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Leland Wood took the loss. Niagara Falls, with the loss, is 4-6.

Justin Cox provided a timely hit. The Mancelona left fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the tenth inning to put the Torch on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
