The Memphis Mockingbirds got a strong performance from pitcher Marvin Velásquez, who stymied the Toronto offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Magnolia Park. Guy Fontaine, now 5-1, was credited with the win in 2.2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The defeat makes Toronto 54-41.

Steve Bullard dealt the Thunder a blow in the bottom of the seventh. Batting with the bases loaded and Memphis leading 3-2, Bullard hit a 1-2 changeup for a 2-run single.
