Ogres Need Extra Innings to Top Javelina, 5-3
|
The Olympia Ogres picked up a win at Javelina Ballpark, taking down the Arizona Javelina, 5-3, in 10 innings. On the mound for Olympia was right-hander Clarence Butler. He played a central role in the triumph. The Ogres win now puts them at 15-19.
The outcome might have been different for Olympia, had it not been for Gisbert Clerq, the 24-year old right fielder . Clerq stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put Olympia up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Clerq.
