Gómez Leads Mariachis to 2-0 Win over Screaming Eagles
Mercer Island Grounds hosted a real pitchers' duel.

The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis used a great performance from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Rafael Gómez to beat the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 2-0, at Mercer Island Grounds. Nuevo Mexico bumps their record to 17-18 with the win.

Gómez delivered a quality start for Nuevo Mexico. The 6-foot-5 left-hander allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 8 innings of work.

"Rafael can bring it," said Nuevo Mexico manager Allen Carlson.
