Gulf Coast Upended by Mercer Island, 6-1
|
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles racked up a win at Mercer Island Grounds, bumping off the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 6-1. Rick Burnett, who started for Mercer Island, pitched effectively for his team. Mercer Island sits in 6th place in the Premier AA at 15-20.
Dane Kennedy had a key at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Mercer Island. With the bases loaded and the Screaming Eagles leading 2-1, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"When Rick is on, he can really move the ball around," said Mercer Island manager Eric Todd.
