Atoms Beat Mariachis, 8-1

Bethesda picked up a win at Mariachi Band Shell, bumping off the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 8-1. Pitcher Vic Hanson was a major reason the Atoms emerged victorious. Bethesda now owns a record of 18-18.
The Atoms got a big boost from catcher Ty Riese who had a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning off Mariachis hurler Román Martínez. It was his 15th walk of the season and put Bethesda on top, 2-1.
"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager Andrés Ventura. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."
