The Marquette Miners cut down the Vancouver Vipers by the score of 8-5 in 11 innings. Much of the credit went to catcher Danny Rainey. Rainey was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Miners. Bo Taylor earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-2. Cam Stone earned the save, his 4th, for the Miners.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until Rainey delivered big-time for Marquette, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Sean Ellis. The game-changing hit put the Miners on top, 5-4.

"It was terrific getting this win," Rainey said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."

By defeating Vancouver, the third-place Miners improved to 20-16.
