The New Orleans Voodoo had to overcome a good performance from Seattle pitcher Bruce Hawkins to claim a 3-2 win at The Voodoo Lounge. Hawkins went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Jared Wilson snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-1 on the season. Adam Shirley suffered the loss. New Orleans, at 56-39, sits in second place in the Premier League.

Rubén Vargas was the walk-off hero for New Orleans. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Voodoo second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Put a star next to this win," Vargas said.
