Voodoo Win Nail-Biter
The New Orleans Voodoo defeated the Mexico City Blue Demons, 8-7, in 11 innings. Much of the credit belonged to right fielder Chris Veeck, who was 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Voodoo. Yoshimasa Sato earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 5-8. The second-place Voodoo hiked their record to 53-42.

New Orleans used the clutch hitting of Janpey Kille to snag the win. The left fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Voodoo ahead, 8-7. It was his lone hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"A lot to like, just frustrated that we came up short," said Mexico City manager JJ Hoban.
