The Ft. Worth Cattlemen defeated the Boston Patriots, 8-6, at Dunkin Donuts Park. Leading the charge for Ft. Worth was center fielder Juan Raspaldo. He went 2 for 3 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times. Ft. Worth reliever Michael Pace picked up the win to move to 1-0. David Sullivan suffered the loss. Marc Potts, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2047 draft, earned the save for Ft. Worth.
In the top of the fifth, Ft. Worth right fielder Francisco Cardenas had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Cardenas stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 7-3, Ft. Worth. For the game, he went 1 for 5, while adding 2 RBI.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Cardenas.
The Cattlemen win now puts them at 40-55.
