Mariachis Come Up Short at Olympia, 3-2
|
The Olympia Ogres picked up a win at The Ogre Den, knocking off the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 3-2. Starting pitcher Jeff McDonald played a key role in the triumph. McDonald got the win, improving to 3-3. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Jorge Mojica, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 13th save.
Jesse Harris, the Olympia shortstop, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 1-0, Ogres. For the game, Harris went 1-3.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Harris.
Olympia is now 18-22, while Nuevo Mexico is 19-21.
