Gwinnett registered a win at Experimental Stadium by beating the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 3-0. Pitcher Jeff Bean was one reason why the Guinea Pigs triumphed. Bean picked up the win for Gwinnett, going 8 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-6. Matt Griffin recorded the save, his 7th.
The Guinea Pigs had to work out of trouble in the top of the eighth. The score was 3-0, Gwinnett, with one out. Ithaca, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Jerry Knight dug in at the plate, but on a full count cutter, he hit into a double play.
The victory puts Gwinnett at 15-26.
