In a tight contest between the Vancouver Vipers and the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, Finlay Midwinter was the determining factor. The Vancouver right-hander sparkled in his team's 2-0 win. The winner was Midwinter. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Elton Brown. The losing streak for Gulf Coast has now reached 4 games.
Vancouver used a well-timed hit by Pat Craig to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Vipers ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
