Fighting Imps Rally For 3-1 Win
|
The Ithaca Fighting Imps topped the Asheville Highlanders, 3-1, in USPL Double A action at Asheville Park. The standout performance belonged to Ithaca pitcher and Dallas, Texas, native Luis Martínez. Ithaca now has a record of 27-15 with the win.
Ithaca used the timely hitting of Paul Brown to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Fighting Imps on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Brown. "I think we showed that here."
