Jeremy Bush never let Bethesda get something going. The Mercer Island right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Screaming Eagles to a 2-1 win. The winner was Bush. He threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Walt Stephens. The victory gives Mercer Island a record of 22-20.

Mercer Island used the timely hitting of Micheal Ball to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Screaming Eagles on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Not enough offensively in a winnable game," said losing manager Esteban Garza.
