In a low-scoring game between the Belleville Bulls and the Laredo Hawks, pitcher Bob O'Reilly was the difference-maker. The Belleville left-hander was tough as nails in the 3-1 Bulls win. Belleville reliever Donald Hamm picked up the win to move to 1-0. Matt Whitfield suffered the loss. Francisco Valenzuela earned the save for Belleville, his 4th of the year.

Belleville needed the clutch hitting of Dimacali Lontok to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bulls on top, 3-1. For the game, Lontok had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Lontok told the Belleville Times.

With the loss, Laredo is 5-7.
