Late Magic Gets St. Petersburg 9-7 Win
The St. Petersburg Thunder knocked off the Minnesota Loons, 9-7, at Baby Thunder Dome. Andrew Anderson produced 2 singles and 1 double, while scoring 1 run and driving in 2. St. Petersburg reliever Lee Fortescue picked up the win to move to 1-0. Christian Adams suffered the loss. After today's action, St. Petersburg sits at 15-30, while Minnesota falls to 23-22.

St. Petersburg took a 8-7 lead on Jon Stewart's 2nd triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Stewart hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Minnesota pitcher Christian Adams shaking his head.

Thunder manager Emílio Sáenz wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
