Cangrejos Fantasmas Stick Atoms with 10-1 Loss
|
The first-place Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas played host to the Bethesda Atoms.
Chesapeake starter Dale Bernard ran into little resistance from Bethesda hitters, as his team cruised to victory, 10-1. Chesapeake goes to 28-17. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.
The Cangrejos Fantasmas got an important contribution from center fielder Mike Jones, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a first pitch fastball to right-center for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Cangrejos Fantasmas ahead, 5-0.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Bernard. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
