Javelina Drop Close One Late
The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis picked up a win at Mariachi Band Shell, topping the Arizona Javelina, 2-1. On the mound for Nuevo Mexico was right-hander Marty Collins. He played a principal role in the triumph. Alberto Martínez was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was Kenny Wallace. Quinton Barnard wrapped it up, recording his 11th save.

Had it not been for Garry Park, the results might have been different. In the bottom of the eighth inning, when the Mariachis were trailing 1-0, Park hit a 2-run single for Nuevo Mexico, giving his team the lead.

"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Collins after the game.

At 22-24, the Mariachis are currently 6th in the Premier AA.
