Screaming Eagles Saddle Ogres with 3-2 Loss
|
In a close game at Mercer Island Grounds, the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles edged the Olympia Ogres, 3-2. Mercer Island third baseman Wally Green stood apart with his performance. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. The third-place Screaming Eagles hiked their record to 25-21.
In the bottom of the fourth, Mercer Island shortstop Micheal Ball had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Olympia hurler Broderick Morales, Ball hit a sacrifice fly. That made the score 3-0, Mercer Island. For the day, Ball drove in one run.
"Tough loss," said Olympia manager Andrés Gonzáles. "But we'll learn from it."
