Fuentes Hits 2 home runs in Miners Win
The Marquette Miners defeated the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 6-2. Right Fielder Greg Fuentes deserved a large share of the credit. Fuentes went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Miners. The winning pitcher was Wynn Jackson. His record now stands at 1-0. The right-hander went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits for the Miners. Marquette currently is in 4th place in the Premier AA at 25-22.

Marquette took a 6-2 lead on Fuentes's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Urpo Mäkitie in the top of the seventh, propelled Marquette to the win.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Fuentes told the Marquette Chronicle. "It's as simple as that."
