With Late Score, Ogres Beat Pierogis
The Olympia Ogres did just enough to sneak past the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 6-5, at The Ogre Den. Olympia pitcher Sidney van Campen, in particular, had a standout performance. Jack Albert snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-1 on the season. Otis Farr suffered the loss. The 5th-place Ogres are now 23-24, the Pierogis 19-28.

The game-ending blow was delivered by Oliver Pérez in the bottom of the ninth. That's when he hit a solo home run off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Otis Farr to win it for Olympia and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.

"This place went bonkers at the end," van Campen said.
