Bethesda Scrapes Out 8-4 Win
Behind the hitting of Stu Kennedy, the Bethesda Atoms stopped the Vancouver Vipers, 8-4. Kennedy was 2-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Atoms. Bethesda reliever Harold Moore picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Bill Carson took the loss. Bethesda raised its record to 24-23 with the win.

Bethesda used the timely hitting of Bartolo Flores to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Atoms on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"No time for flexing," said Kennedy. "It's always one game at a time."
