The Belleville Bulls converted a terrific effort from starter Richie Ayala into a win over the Niagara Falls Expos at Belleville Field. The Bulls won the game by a final score of 5-2. Ayala got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 3 hits and walked 0 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Scot Dixon earned the save, his 5th.
Jim Henry swatted a 2-run home run for Belleville in the bottom of the seventh. The right fielder went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 3.
"Richie was pretty good at keeping their guys off-balance," said Belleville manager Rafael Avelar.
The Bulls raised their record to 9-4.
