Godfathers Win, Morris leads offense
|
Pitcher Chris Morris was sensational for the Pontiac Godfathers in his team's 7-0 triumph over the Chicago Tula. Morris picked up the win, and it was well-earned. In 6.2 innings, Morris surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Pontiac goes to 9-4 with the win.
Pontiac used the bat of Francisco Garza to get the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Godfathers ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Garza, "and then get after it again."
