The Marquette Miners did just enough to sneak past the Crescent City Krewe, 5-4, at Marquette Stadium. Marquette pitcher Bryan Ogle, in particular, had a standout performance. Ogle, now 4-1, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The victory gives Marquette a record of 25-23.

Contributing to the Marquette cause was Vicente Mejía. In the bottom of the third, the 27-year old catcher had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 5-2, the Miners in front.

"Bryan pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Marquette manager Andrés Pérez.
