The Marquette Miners faced a tough opponent in Gwinnett pitcher Rod Pritchard, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Marquette Stadium by a final score of 6-3 in 10 innings. Pritchard went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Reliever Sancho Sánchez picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Matt Griffin took the loss. The Miners raised their record to 23-25.

Marquette got a clutch hit from Justin Gould. The left fielder socked a 3-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was game-ender.

"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Gould.
