Vipers Take Tight Tangle
|
Starting pitcher Luis Palma was a major factor in the 3-2 Vancouver Vipers triumph over the Bethesda Atoms. Vancouver reliever Floyd Seymour picked up the win to move to 3-4. Tommy Smith suffered the loss. The Vipers are now 20-28.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 2-2, 26-year old right fielder Héctor Trujillo won it for Vancouver. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Trujillo hit a 1-1 fastball from Gerald Huff for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 3-2 win.
"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Bethesda manager Esteban Garza.
