Atoms Lose as Guinea Pigs Stage Late Rally
|
Bethesda wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Carlos Ramos, falling to the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, 5-3. Ramos threw 7.1 innings allowing 2 runs for the losing team. Sean Long, 3-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Gwinnett is now 22-27, Bethesda 28-21.
It could have been a different outcome for Gwinnett, had it not been for Wyatt Hathaway, the top prospect . Hathaway contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Gwinnett up, 4-3.
Gwinnett manager Cary Collins called it "a darn good win."
