The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles had to overcome a good performance from Vancouver pitcher Marc Maxwell to claim a 3-2 win at Mercer Island Grounds. Maxwell went 8 innings and allowed no runs. At 23-26, the Screaming Eagles are currently 7th in the Premier AA.

Jorge González was the walk-off hero for Mercer Island. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Screaming Eagles left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said González.
