Fighting Imps Spoil Great Performance by Long
|
The Ithaca Fighting Imps withstood a fine game by Nuevo Mexico catcher Chris Long at Mariachi Band Shell, to upend the Mariachis, 10-4. Long belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Allen Wagner, the winning pitcher, is now 3-3. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 7 and walking 2. After today's action, Ithaca sits at 24-26; Nuevo Mexico slips to 23-27.
Jerry Jaramillo, the Ithaca center fielder, contributed a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to make the score 7-4, Fighting Imps. For the game, Jaramillo was 4-5 with 4 singles, while adding 3 RBI.
