Jacques-Jean Slugs River Rats to 4-3 Win
|
The Columbia River Rats beat the Rocky Mountain Vibes, 4-3, at Columbia Stadium. Columbia catcher Jean-Jacques François Jacques-Jean had an outstanding performance. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. George Harris earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. Losses have been few and far between for the Vibes, now 9-4.
Jacques-Jean had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 3-1 fastball from Juan López, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the River Rats a 4-1 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Jacques-Jean.
Jacques-Jean called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
