Starting pitcher Joe Gordon gave the Rocky Mountain Vibes a rock-solid effort. The Hialeah, Florida native helped his team defeat the Delmarva Gallos, 3-2, at The Cage. Rocky Mountain pitcher Manny Rodríguez earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Charles Covenay suffered the loss. The loss drops Delmarva to 9-4.
Rocky Mountain needed the clutch hitting of Stephen Appleby to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Vibes on top, 2-0. For the game, Appleby had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was a good effort all around," said Gordon.
