The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles scooped up a win at Mercer Island Grounds, dumping the Vancouver Vipers, 5-1. Shawn Brennan was essential to his team's success. Earning his 1st save of the year was Robert Martin. The Screaming Eagles, at 24-26, inhabit 6th place in the Premier AA.

Mike Thompson had a big solo home run for the Screaming Eagles in the bottom of the third inning. With Mercer Island leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he got a fastball from Jean-Jacques Grimaud and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 2-0.

Thompson attributed the win to his team's "dogged determination."
