Tight Tilt Goes to Saboteurs, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring game between the Toledo Saboteurs and the Olympia Ogres, pitcher Jim Lambert was masterful on the mound. The Toledo right-hander spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. Toledo pitcher Salvador Martínez got the win. He's now 1-0. Ryan Day was tagged with the loss. The save went to Pat Kirkpatrick, his 5th this season.
Christian Brown's at-bat with one out in the top of the ninth was critical. The Toledo second baseman reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run, to put his team on top, 2-1. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.
"Jim was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Toledo manager Fernando Mendoza.
Toledo, at 23-27, sits in 8th place in the Premier AA.
