Waddingham Lit, Miners Win, 7-1
The Marquette Miners beat the Ithaca Fighting Imps by a score of 7-1. Marquette third baseman Brad Waddingham deserved the lion's share of the credit. Waddingham went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Miners. The winning pitcher was 27-year old left-handed pitcher Joseph Campbell. He tossed 83 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits. Marquette is now 25-27. Ithaca is 36-16.

With Marquette leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Waddingham hit a changeup from Mick Ditka for a 2-run double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Miners ahead, 4-1.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Waddingham said.
