The Marquette Miners beat the Ithaca Fighting Imps by a score of 7-1. Marquette third baseman Brad Waddingham deserved the lion's share of the credit. Waddingham went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Miners. The winning pitcher was 27-year old left-handed pitcher Joseph Campbell.
