Both teams had their chances, but the Bethesda Atoms eventually prevailed.

The Bethesda Atoms beat the St. Petersburg Thunder, 6-5, at Baby Thunder Dome. Luigi Mangione, in particular, was impressive. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Travis Davidson was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.

Bethesda grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Mangione hit a 2-run double off Stan Coffey. His 1st double of the season put the Atoms out in front, 6-4.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Mangione.

The Atoms are now 27-25.
