The Squirrel Hill Pierogis and Bethesda Atoms played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.

In a low-scoring contest between the Squirrel Hill Pierogis and the Bethesda Atoms, 23-year old left-handed pitcher Myung-woo Kang proved to be the difference. The Squirrel Hill left-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Pierogis win. Kang got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run.

Jeff McElroy went 1-3 for Squirrel Hill. The 25-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Roberto Valdéz. It was his 9th RBI of the season.

"We took home the win," said Kang. "What's not to like?"
