Mariachis Lose By a Run at Crescent City
|
Crescent City Krewe starter Brandon Whitney turned in a sparkling performance against the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, leading his team to a 3-2 win. In 7 innings, Whitney surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Diego Ramírez got the save, the 4th for him this season.
In the bottom of the sixth, Joe Steward delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Crescent City catcher hit a run-scoring single, putting the Krewe in front, 3-2.
"Brandon is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said Crescent City manager Jack Morton.
Crescent City is now 27-26, Nuevo Mexico 30-23.
