The Guinea Pigs faced a stiff challenge from Vancouver pitcher Juan Cruz, but persevered to claim a win at Experimental Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Cruz went 8 innings and allowed no runs. The win makes Gwinnett 24-30.

The Guinea Pigs got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Don Kirby. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Guinea Pigs.
