Screaming Eagles Pull Off Thrilling 9-7 Win in Extras
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles beat the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 9-7, in 11 innings. Mercer Island pitcher and Beech Grove, Indiana, native Paul Jefferson led the way. Mercer Island reliever Paul Jefferson got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Burt Dickerson was tagged with the loss. Mercer Island, at 26-28, holds down 6th place in the Premier AA.

Jared Tomlinson had the most critical at-bat for Mercer Island. With one in the top of the 11th inning, Tomlinson hit a full count fastball from Burt Dickerson for a run-scoring single. It put Mercer Island in front, 7-6.

"Exciting game to play in," said Tomlinson. "Getting the win makes it even better."
