Loss Tarnishes Fine Performance by Marion
Gulf Coast right fielder Francis Marion pounded Mercer Island Screaming Eagles pitchers at Mobile Home Park, but it was not enough to keep the Turbeaus from falling, 11-6. Marion belted 3 home runs. Henry Ball recorded the save, his 1st. Mercer Island's record now stands at 26-28, placing them 7th in the Premier AA.

Mercer Island used a clutch hit from Mauro Flores to get the win. The catcher drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 11-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"We got the victory," said Flores. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
