Both teams had their chances, but the Ithaca Fighting Imps eventually prevailed.

St. Petersburg third baseman Jay Fuller had a good game, even if his team did not. The Thunder dropped a 6-5 decision to Ithaca at Baby Thunder Dome. Fuller was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ithaca reliever Darryl Smith picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Lee Fortescue absorbed the loss.

Ithaca used a clutch hit from Takeo Okamoto to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fighting Imps ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Okamoto told the Ithaca Herald.

St. Petersburg is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 10 in a row.
