The Vancouver Vipers got a stellar performance from pitcher Jean-Jacques Grimaud, who handcuffed the Marquette offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Vipers Ballpark. The winning pitcher was Grimaud, now 3-2. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. The 6th-place Miners now sit at 28-28.

The Vipers got an important contribution from center fielder Pat Craig, who in the bottom of the third hit a 2-0 changeup to right for a 2-run triple. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the Vipers ahead, 3-2.

Said losing manager Andrés Pérez: "Give the Vipers credit. They played a better game than we did."
