Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and St. Petersburg Thunder.
In a low-scoring contest between the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and the St. Petersburg Thunder, Cristóbal Félix, who is tied for 8th in the PAA in complete games with 1, proved to be the difference. The Mercer Island right-hander earned props for his performance in the 1-0 Screaming Eagles win. Ken Irvin earned the save for Mercer Island, his 3rd of the year.
Félix was in the zone all game. He frustrated St. Petersburg hitters while giving the Screaming Eagles 8 innings of quality work. Félix threw 90 pitches, allowing 5 hits and getting 4 punchouts.
"Gutsy performance by Cristóbal," said Mercer Island manager Jonah Moody.
The Screaming Eagles have now reeled off 7 straight wins.
