Mercer Island turned a fine outing from starter Mark Moss into a victory over the Bethesda Atoms at Mercer Island Grounds. The final score was 3-2. Mercer Island sits in 7th place in the Premier AA at 28-30.

The decisive blow was delivered by David Acevedo in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 22-year old left-handed pitcher Kel Christian to win the game for Mercer Island. The home crowd went nuts.

"Mark just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Mercer Island manager Eric Todd.
