Krewe Deal Screaming Eagles 3-1 Defeat
|
The Crescent City Krewe earned a close win over the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, thanks in part to Brooks Mason. The Crescent City right-hander played a key role in the 3-1 victory. Mason, now 3-2, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Rich Griffin earned the save for Crescent City, his 11th.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Luis Solís? The Crescent City right fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Krewe on top, 3-1. For the game, Solís had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Mason said.
Crescent City raised its record to 34-25 with the win.
