Ft. Polk South Topples Asheville, 3-0

The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks had to overcome a fine performance from Asheville pitcher Tomás Silva to grab a 3-0 win at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Silva allowed 3 runs over 6.1 innings. Ze-dong Jiao picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Tomás Silva was tagged with the loss. Ft. Polk South's record now stands at 23-37, placing them 8th in the Premier AA.
Ft. Polk South left fielder Brian Bane contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 47th hit of the season and put the Thunder Hawks ahead, 3-0.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Asheville manager Robby Long. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
