Mercer Island Nets 1-0 Win Versus Atoms
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles eked out a 1-0 win versus the Bethesda Atoms at Mercer Island Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Spencer Margó. He was terrific. Mercer Island reliever Manny Sexton picked up the win, upping his record to 2-4. Cory Valéncia took the loss. With the win, Mercer Island pushed its record to 30-30.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game scoreless in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Atoms allowed the Screaming Eagles to score the winning run.

"Some games build character," said Mercer Island manager Eric Todd. "Like this one."
